The Gift of Books - Subscriptions and Book Of The Month Club

You have landed in perfect gift territory here. We offer two different services, each wonderful, both special.

The Subscription service is where we choose a book a month especially for the recipient based on what you’ve told us about their likes, dislikes, age, interests, etc. Each month we write them a card as to why we think they’ll enjoy the book we’ve chosen for them and we include it in the carefully wrapped parcel. It’s then ready to be collected or posted to them. This is a bespoke service and our experienced team here in Halfway up the Stairs are the very best people to be choosing books for all young readers. Children really love receiving these gifts monthly and we have had many children on our subscription service for a few years now! You can sign up for six or twelve months and we include a note from you in with their first book.

The Book of the Month Club also sees the recipient receiving a carefully chosen book each month but this one is selected for them based solely on their age and will be sent to all the children of the same age in the Book of the Month Club. We tend to choose newly published or lesser known books and again the children love receiving them. In this service, they don’t receive a handwritten note and the book is unwrapped, but the excitement factor is as high. We will include a note from you with their first book, and they get a card with a sticker each month telling them how many months into their gift they are. Again, they can be collected in the shop or they can be posted to them. The cost for nationwide post is online, and you can contact us for overseas prices. You can sign them up for three, six or twelve months for the Book of the Month Club.
